How long you can stay
This visa is of a permanent nature, granting you the privilege of indefinite stay within Australia. Notably, the visa includes a travel feature that remains valid for five years from the date of visa issuance.
Upon the visa’s grant, you attain the status of a permanent resident. In terms of citizenship eligibility, your permanent residency initiates either on the day the visa is granted if you are currently in Australia or on the day you enter Australia using this visa if you are outside the country.
Include family
You have the option to include your family members in your visa application. This can be done in two ways:
At the Time of Application: You may include your family members when initially submitting your visa application.
After Application Lodgment: Alternatively, you can choose to add them to your application after it has been lodged but before a decision on your visa is made.
Please note that family members seeking this visa must satisfy our health and character requirements. Additionally, family members who will not be accompanying you to Australia may also need to meet these health and character requirements.
If your partner or dependent children are not included in this application, kindly provide us with a reason to assist in the visa processing.
Cost
The primary applicant incurs a visa fee of AUD4,640.00. In addition to this, a fee is applicable for each family member who applies for the visa as part of your application.

For applicants aged 18 years or older with less than functional English proficiency, there may be an additional charge known as the second instalment. This charge is only requested if the visa is to be granted.
The second instalment charge for family members is AUD4,885. Please note that the Visa Pricing Estimator does not factor in the second instalment or other potential expenses, such as those related to health checks, police certificates, and biometrics.
Apply from
You have the flexibility to submit your visa application whether you are currently inside or outside of Australia. This applies both when you apply for the visa and when we assess your application, with the exception of being in immigration clearance.
If you choose to apply for the visa while you are within Australia, it is essential that you hold either a substantive visa or one of the following Bridging visas: Subclass 010 Bridging A visa, Subclass 020 Bridging B visa, or Subclass 030 Bridging C visa. Failure to meet this requirement may result in your application being deemed invalid.

Travel
Upon the granting of the visa, you have the freedom to travel in and out of Australia as frequently as you desire for a duration of five years. However, once this five-year period elapses, you will be required to obtain a Resident Return Visa (RRV) of either subclass 155 or 157 to re-enter Australia as a permanent resident.
Visa label
Your visa will be electronically linked to your passport, and you will not receive a physical label inside your passport.
